Setup email flow in Klaviyo to recover more abandoned cart shoppers

Boost your Klaviyo email marketing revenue by re-engaging abandoned cart shoppers you may have missed.

Following Apple's April 2023 updates, Klaviyo can only capture cart, product, and checkout events from your Shopify store when users are logged in or have authenticated within the past seven days. To address this limitation and ensure consistent data tracking, we leverage our server-side tracking.

Here are the steps to set this feature up -

1) Connect Klaviyo - Integrate your Klaviyo account with Reaktion by navigating here and selecting Klaviyo - (You might already have connected Klaviyo in Reaktion, then skip this step and move to step 2.)

Please refer to this guide on the next steps on inserting the API key for Klaviyo.

2) Once you have set this up, this will allow Reaktion to send events to your Klaviyo account. These events are visible under the 'Metrics' section in Klaviyo, accessible via this direct link. Or navigate to Analytics > Metrics as shown below -

Our events would look like this -

3) Navigate to the Klaviyo Flows section using this direct link. Or click on Flows from the left panel and select your existing flows to clone them (if you already is running abandoned shopper flows).

If you're not yet running any email flows to abandoned shoppers then you need to create an email flow for it first  -

4) Click on the desired Flow and set the trigger to the new Reaktion metric -

5) Set up a profile filter to exclude customers who are already part of your other flows, ensuring that you're targeting only new customers - not part of existing flows.

This also means, you're able to combine Reaktion abandoned cart tracked events with any existing running abandoned shopper flow (if you're running this already). This way, you can see exactly the additional revenue that Reaktion abandoned shopper tracking is bringing in.

Once these steps are completed, you can then review and turn on the new Reaktion flow. Ready to recover more abandoned shoppers!
