How to Manually Set COGS in Reaktion for Accurate Profit Tracking

Modified on Fri, 10 Oct at 3:58 PM

To calculate gross profit per order, etc., we need the most accurate COGS per product (if varying profit margins). If you use Shopify, you can set COGS directly in Shopify. We pull this cost data every 4 hours into Reaktion.

You can also manually set COGS directly in Reaktion if you have a smaller product catalog.

Follow the easy steps below. You need to set your COGS per webshop/market (if you choose this manual approach)

1. Click on "Setup" and "Product settings"

2. Select the store and enable the 'View variant level' option under 'Expand/Collapse Variants' option, so that the 'Override cost' option appears at the variant level of the products:

3. Click on 'Override cost' and set a COGS value (excl. VAT). All COGS are set in the store currency.

4. Click "Save". Wait up to 24 hours to see the effect of the COGS update in your numbers.

Tip: Use the filter 'Product name contains (string fields) Name' to find your products and variants easily:
