A supplemental feed is a secondary data source used to provide more details or update existing details, such as required or optional product attributes, that may be missing from your primary feed.
If you are using Google Merchant Center Next, please follow the steps in this guide to upload your supplemental feed -
Step 1 - The first step is to copy the supplemental feed from Reaktion. Navigate to the Shoptimizer module in Reaktion and click on 'My Custom Label Feeds' to select your desired feed. Click on this link for direct access to the page in Reaktion.
Then, click on 'Review & Get XML Feed' against the required feed and copy the Google Shopping custom label feed as shown below -
Please remember the 'Feed Matching Strategy' you choose here, as you would need to fill in this value in Step 5.
Step 2 - Login to Google Merchant Center account. Check if you have activated the required Add-on to add the supplemental feed. To check this, please navigate to Settings> Add-ons> Advanced data source management > click on ‘Add’ -
Once this add-on is activated, the ‘Advanced data source management’ will be added to the ‘Your add-ons’ tab -
Step 3 - Navigate to Account Settings > Data Sources > Supplemental sources tab. Here, click on ‘Add supplemental product data’ -
Step 4 - Select ‘Add Product data from file’ and paste the supplemental feed link you copied from your Reaktion account in Step 1. Click ‘Continue’ and go to the next step -
Step 5 - Please ensure to select the right 'Feed matching strategy' from Step 1. And, select the primary feed to which you want to link the supplemental feed URL -
Click on ‘Create Date Source’ and your supplemental feed will be ready!
Note - To add feed rules (now called ‘attribute rules’), click on the feed where you want to apply them. Then, navigate to the ‘Your attribute rules’ tab and now set your feed rules -
